OUR PROGRAMS
Early Childhood Education (ECE)
At CRBS, we believe no one is too young to benefit from a loving, nurturing environment. Our Early Education Program is dedicated to young children whose fresh perspective, laughter, hugs and enthusiasm for learning inspire us to enjoy and explore the world around us in a unique way. At the very heart of our ECE program is the belief that children can learn through both directed, structured learning AND through play.
Mother's Day Out classes focus on children ages three months to 3 years old and are available two days a week (Wednesday and Friday) from 8:30 a.m. to Preschool We have two options for our kindergarten program: Our traditional all-day class that meets M-F from All Kindergarten students follow the ABeka curriculum for phonics and reading. ACSI (Association of Christian Schools International) math is used to provide the children with hands-on learning and the development of higher level thinking skills. FOSS science kits are used to teach science through exploration and discovery. Children are introduced to topic-specific classes such as computer, library, art, music and physical education. Children who have not been enrolled in the CRBS pre-kindergarten program will need to be evaluated for readiness before they are admitted to kindergarten. GO EAGLES ENHANCEMENT ACTIVITIES & PROGRAM Extended Care CRBS understands that some parents need a more flexible schedule than the regular classroom hours offer. We provide an extended care program both before and after school for an additional cost. Stay & Play (Mother's Day Out) If an MDO student has a sibling attending Kindergarten or higher at CRBS, these students are allowed to remain in the Early Childhood Education building where they may watch an age-appropriate video, play with toys, games, and puzzles, or be taken to the ECE playground. This program is available Wednesdays and Fridays from 2:05 to 3:00 p.m. Late Room (Pre-Kindergarten through 8th Grade) Clay Road Baptist School offers extended care for Preschool-PreK in the Early Childhood Building. This is available from 3:15 until 6:00 p.m. Hot Lunch Program CRBS offers daily hot lunch options for an additional charge. Orders are placed by the month and are delivered to the students during their lunch period. Choices may include pizza, Mexican food, sub sandwiches, Chick-Fil-A nuggets or sandwiches, and fish sticks. Students may also purchase snacks and drinks, including milk, in the concession area to go along with their meals or to have during extended care. CRBS is pleased to offer a wide variety of in-class and before/after school enrichment programs to enhance your child’s educational experience. Please review our “Opportunities to Soar” insert for further details. GO LADY EAGLES The pre-kindergarten program is for children who are four years old by September 1. We offer two attendance options for our pre-kindergarten students: students meet three days each week (Monday, Wednesday and Friday) from This is a year of new beginnings as children prepare for the challenges of "big school." We continue to utilize the ABeka curriculum to assist students in developing and mastering the skills and concepts they began in preschool such as more focused work with numbers, phonics instruction & letter formation. Students also have opportunities to stretch their memory skills by learning short Bible verses and reciting the pledges to our flags. Socially, students will focus on the rules of classroom etiquette and relationship strategies. Reinforcement activities include creative play, arts & craft activities, fine & gross motor movement, and music, computer & library classes. Five day students utilize their extra time together for additional enrichment and reinforcement activities. Regardless of the number of days attending, students who attend our pre-kindergarten program are fully prepared for the advanced instruction our kindergarten classes provide. Middle school (grades 6 through 8) The middle school grades utilize a variety of curriculum sources, including Abeka, Bob Jones and Glencoe. Students can potentially graduate with high school credit for Integrated Physics and Chemistry and Algebra I. Spanish, which is part of the core curriculum, will count towards a high school credit as well. Students are given an elective period opportunity during the regular school day and may choose from art, drama, and band. Students also have the opportunity to participate in the chapel Worship Team, Accelerated Reader program and in various sports activities such as cheerleading, football, volleyball, basketball and track.
